We save lives by providing education and leveraging technology to facilitate reaching out at the moment of decision.

When darkness falls, who is your light?

When you're down, depressed, or despondent, it's difficult to think of someone to reach out to. You scroll through the contacts in your phone or your social media, and you find excuses not to contact people.

"I don't want to bother her."
"I don't know him that well."
"It's too late at night; I’m sure they're probably sleeping."

There are a thousand reasons NOT to call anyone. At your most vulnerable, you aren't likely to feel up to making the effort to find contact information to phone or text those closest to you.

Enter Project 24 Seven. Project 24 Seven gives you access to a ready list of resources, so at the moment of your greatest need, you can quickly retrieve contact information and get help.

What is Project 24 Seven?

Project 24 Seven’s mission statement reads:

We save lives by providing education and leveraging technology to facilitate reaching out at the moment of decision.

You start by creating a group in your phone contacts. Like the ICE list that emergency responders can use when your phone is locked, this group is YOUR emergency list. After you create the group, reach out to those friends and family who can be available to talk 24/7 should you need them. Ask these individuals if they are OK getting a call from you at any time, any day if you find yourself in crisis. Those who say yes, add to the group.

Also include at least one public resource that you would feel comfortable calling. A list of suicide prevention hotlines and other support services for all types of communities can be found here - project24seven.org/hotlines-and-resources.
